Vladimir-Suzdal

By the end of the twelfth century Vladimir-Suzdal had become a strong princedom.  But Vladimir was also later to fall to the Tartars after a long siege and bloody battle. Three churches remain of pre-tartar times as well as the main gate to the city which is now a small museum that very nicely portrays the battle for Vladimir in several different languages.

The Church of Intercession-on-Nerl is described as a jem of old Russian architecture. It was built during Andrei Bogolyvbsky's rule in 1165
